Machine Assembler / Field Service Technician (permanent/full-time)

Reports To: Engineering Sales Manager
Location: Springfield, Ohio

In 2016, Palmer Manufacturing & Supply purchased Klein Technology Group, a leading manufacturer of pneumatic conveying systems and special process equipment for the foundry industry. This company is growing both domestically and internationally and is searching for a qualified candidate to fill our Machine Assembler / Field Service Technician position. Authorization to work in the USA is required. Relocation is not available. 20% travel with some overnights required. Most have a current passport as International travel may be required.

Description:
The position is part of a team responsible for the in-house assembly of equipment and service at customer locations. During on-site service visits, this person will provide startup service and troubleshoot to diagnose and provide solutions to repair equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background and enjoy assembly of equipment and solving mechanical and programming equipment problems.

Position responsibilities:

  • Machine Assembly: assembly of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical machine components including piping and wiring based on shop drawings using electric or hand tools as required.
  • Electrical Machine Controls: knowledge of machine controls and ability to wire and calibrate control devices using shop drawings and manufacturer’s instructions
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting using Allen Bradley RSLogix platforms.
  • Field Service: travel, sometimes on short notice, to service customers’ need including startup or repair of equipment. Travel from 2 days to 1 week are common to customers plants in US, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

Qualifications:

  • Design Associates degree or tech school certificate, or 1-2 years manufacturing assembly experience required.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and PLC controls knowledge required.
  • Industrial machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with limited supervision required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with our domestic and international customers is a must.

Mechanical Designer Draftsperson (permanent/full-time)

Reports To: Engineering Sales Manager
Location: Springfield, Ohio

This company is growing both domestically and internationally and is searching for a qualified candidate to fill our entry level Mechanical Designer Draftsperson position. Authorization to work in the USA is required. Relocation is not available. Travel is not required.

Description:
The entry level position is part of a team effort responsible for the creation of drawings and/or sketches of the parts and systems for the equipment we design. This position works closely with our engineering and production team.

Position responsibilities:

  • Prepares sketches and layouts and understands general drawing procedures.
  • Prepares CAD files – AutoCAD preferred.
  • Reads blueprints and understands logical progression of drawing sets.
  • Ability to visualize machine parts and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to use various pieces of measuring equipment and has general mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications:

  • Design Associates degree or tech school certificate, or 1-2 years experience required.
  • Industrial machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience required.
  • Foundry operations or bulk material handling experience preferred.
  • Industrial electrical and PLC programming experience preferred.
  • Solidworks or CATIA experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Adobe Acrobat.

Controller

This company is growing both domestically and internationally and is searching for a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee all financial, accounting, and human resources activities.

The candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Key areas within the human resources department will also be managed by the Controller, including policy and procedure compliance and ongoing maintenance of HR practices. This is an opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work place and is well-versed in working closely with senior management. Authorization to work in the USA is required. Job Duties:

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Manage and oversee multiple companies
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL Cost Accounting, Inventory and Revenue Recognition
  • Perform month-end activities and close the books
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Prepare annual operating budgets
  • Provide information to external tax preparer at year end
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Maximize return, and limit risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances
  • Manage the preparation of weekly payroll for personnel
  • Keep up-to-date on current HR trends
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Oversee company 401k plan
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees
  • Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5 years of experience in human resources
  • Background in manufacturing industry essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Macola software knowledge preferred

Sales Engineer

Sales Engineer Job Duties:

  • Work with outside sales force to develop system equipment lists for quotation.
  • Support inside sales dept. with technical assistance and quote generation direction.
  • Work with internal sales and engineering personnel to upgrade, modify, or create a customer solution.
  • Work with internal engineering group to scope work for proposal development.
  • Modify, update and develop top level engineering drawings for equipment and systems.
  • Estimated bill of material and labor requirements generation to develop sell costing.
  • Work with outside and inside sales force to develop and deliver quotations to customers.
  • Support field service department with technical information.
  • Travel to customer sites to attend meeting or to provide consultations for systems and operations (travel not to exceed 20%).

Education/Experience:

  • 2 year Mechanical Engineering degree or 4 years of engineering experience.
  • AutoCAD and/or Solidworks experience preferred.
  • Foundry background a plus.
  • Sales experience not required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills required.
  • Strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills a must.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
